Directions for the BRH and HCIB Joint Meet Weekend

The Howard County Iron Bridge Hunt & Bull Run Hunt Weekend
  • HCIBH is pleased to welcome the Bull Run Hunt hounds, which will meet at 11 a.m. on Sat. Nov. 18 at Pleasant Prospect, with a light breakfast to follow in the lodge.

  • We are pleased to welcome the members of Bull Run to dinner that evening, 7 pm at our kennels.

  • Bull Run members will join the HCIB Hounds 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 at Harwood, with a light tailgate breakfast to follow.

Bull Run Hunt Sidesaddle Ladies at Montpelier Hunt Races

Bull Run Hunt members Newlin Humphrey, Kim Mitchell, and Elizabeth Rock displayed the gorgeous elegance of sidesaddle riding before the races started at the Montpeler Hunt Races this past weekend.  The ladies and thier mounts all looked lovely and we are so proud to have them represent us.

  1. Take Rt. 522 to Woodville. 
  2. Turn right on Rudasill Mill Rd. (Rt. 621)
  3. Follow to crossroads at Five Forks. 
  4. Turn left on Fletchers Mill Rd.
  5. Go past house, driveway on right park in field on right, THH sign.
If you go on 522 to turn at Fletchers Mill Rd/ Old Stable there is a narrow bridge and turn.

Bull Run Hunt wins Reserve Champion Hunt for the Night!We are so proud of all our riders and horses for representing Bull Run Hunt at the 2017 Pennsylvania National Horse Show!  Bull Run ended up Reserve Champion Hunt for the night!  Special thanks goes to our riders Autumn Rogers, Amy Savell, Jennifer Oliver, Jamie Temple, Newlin Humphrey, and Pam Cibula and to Sally Lamb for helping organize the horses, riders, and teams!

Directions to Barclay’s Silo on Hells Bend Road 

From North:
  1. Rt.29 to Rt.15 South through Orange and Gordonsville to I64. 
  2. Take I64 East for one exit. 
  3. Take Ferncliff/ Louisa exit and turn Right. 
  4. Go through flashing light on Rt.659 south (Kent's Store Way). 
  5. Go approximately 3 miles to Kent's Store and take a right on Venable Road, just across from post office. 
  6. Go to the end and take a Left on Courthouse Rd. 
  7. Go approximately one mile and look for Hell's Bend Road on the right. 
  8. Parking 3/4 of a mile on left. 
From East:
About 13 miles west on Broad Street from Gum Spring Exit  - or – I-64 West to Shannon Hill exit 148, Left off exit to Rt. 250 - Broad Street Road, Right on Rt. 250; go West, Go approximately 2 ½ miles
  1. Left onto Rt. 653 - Three Chopt Road (sign for Kents Store)
  2. Go approximately 1/4 mile
  3. Left on Rt. 601 – Venable Road - go approximately 3.5 miles
  4. Go to yield sign at Kent’s Store
  5. Left at yield – is Rt. 659 – Cedar Lane;
  6. Go 4.4 miles (you will pass Byrd Hill) to the Y in road
  7. Bear Right to Wilmington Road - Rt. 608
  8. Go .7 miles
  9. Left onto Hells Bend Road – Rt. 606
  10. Go another .7 miles on left for Parking
From Rt. 6 West:
  1. Go to edge of the town of Columbia
  2. Take Right on Rt. 659 (Stage Junction Road) heading towards Ferncliff
  3. Go about 6 miles
  4. You will see the Lovings’ white fence on the left and the turn sign for Rt. 659 on the right
  5. Keep going straight & this becomes Wilmington Road Rt. 608
  6. Then follow .7 miles and go Left onto Hells Bend Road
  7. Go another .7 miles on left for Parking
